- Survival is only the beginning -
Stranded on a remote Pacific island after a violent storm shatters her boat and her carefully constructed sense of self, she discovers that survival is only the beginning of a far more dangerous journey — one into love, longing, and the fragile courage required to begin again.
I thought the ocean would test my strength. I didn’t realise it would strip me back to nothing — and show me who I really was.
The storm took everything I thought I needed to survive. What it left behind was something far more dangerous — the truth.
On that island, time slowed, the world fell away, and I began to understand that survival was never the real challenge.
Somewhere between the waves, the silence, and him… I stopped trying to be who I was — and became someone new.

Not a fast-paced, dramatic survival book — it’s more thoughtful than that. It’s about isolation, healing, and connection. The writing is really atmospheric and the island almost feels like another character.
I went in for the adventure, stayed for the character growth. Tess’s journey felt very honest, especially her doubts and fears. The romance is subtle but really works.
This isn’t a loud book — it builds slowly, but by the end it really stays with you. The idea that survival isn’t the hardest part was something I kept thinking about.
